Default Rear Pulley

Does anyone know the difference between a 40117-00 and a 40217-04 pulley. I have a 2005 Ultra and parts books calls for the 40217-04. Both are 70 tooth and 1 1/8". I don't have the wheel off but they look the same. If I can verify they are I am going to send the loose pulley to the chrome shop. Thanks in advance.

40217-00 SPROCKET ASSY, REAR BELT DRIVE, 70T, BLK $165.00
40217-04 SPROCKET, FINAL DRIVE, 70T $171.00

One says black and is cheaper, that's all I can tell by running them without having a look see

I have just removed the rear pulley from a cast rear wheel assembly from a 2005 Ultra. The part no. is 40117-00. If you need pics, let me know. Also, (shameless plug time) the pulley is available in the classified touring section.

I'm looking for a stock final drive sprocket for a 2000 FLHT for a friend.

If the 00 pulley is 1 1/8" it didn't come on a touring bike as they used a 1 1/2" belt, it may be for a softail or something. You'll just have to measure the offset on the pulley to see if it will work, the bolt pattern is the same.

Yeah this thread makes no sense to me. the last two numbers are the year release date. 00 bikes were 1 1/2" belts. Yet Dennis says he just removed a rear pulley from his 05 with 00 part number?
