wtf stalled?
wtf stalled?
so as i was riding home from work this evening the idle was really low.i caught it a couple of times from stalling out less than a block from my work, the again 10 miles into the ride.then a block from the house sitting @a light just idled itself out?this is bone stock has 137 miles on it.i swear there no oil in the primary sometimes the way i have to jam it into gear and there's a lot of play(.25 of a inch).i check the shocks case i hit bottom,,,that's right no air wtf are they slapping these thing together or what.i got rid of a perfectly good heritage for this?

I had the same low idle and stalling problem with my SG for the first 1000 miles. I told the dealer about it at the first service and they took care of it. I'm not sure what they did, the service ticket just says "adjusted idle" but I have a feeling they may have remaped the ECM. It's running so good now that I'm curious about what they really did - I'm going to stop by there tomorrow and ask. I'm in Jersey too - my dealer is Long Branch HD.

Long Branch HD is about 7 - 8 miles south of Sandy Hook. People get confused with the Rt.36 thing because it's called Ocean Ave along the water and goes from running East-West to North-South. The dealer is on Broadway in Long Branch. I've heard good things about Liberty, but I've never been there. This is my 3rd Harley from Long Branch and I have been very happy with the service there over the years. I found mine to be almost like a different bike after the 1k service. Not just the idle change, but everything was tweaked and adjusted and just feels smoother overall. Or maybe it just feels that way because the low idle really makes the bike shake alot - mine was dipping down to near 700 rpms sometimes. Now it's always right around 1000. Let me know next time you're coming down this way and we can hook up for a ride. I'll let you know what my dealer did at the service when I find out.

If you're headed south on 36 going away from Sandy Hook you have to head all the way into Long Branch and make a right on to Broadway. It's across from the new Pier Village condo and townhouse development on the beach. Couple of miles up Broadway on your right is the dealer.
