Just ordered the HD Brawler seat for my RKC yesterday. I had this seat on my Dyna & loved it! Yah, probabaly not the best seat for long, long rides but MAN does it look good for just blasting around!
Question: I removed the passenger strap off my bike yesterday & pulled the stock seat off. I was surprised to see that there wasn't another hole on the fender where the Brawler seat would get screwed down to like on my Dyna? So where the heck does the Brawler seat get screwed down to?
Also, if you guys could post some pics of the Brawler seat on your bikes I'd appreciate it! Thanks.
the brawler like the Danny Gray come with a bracket that will mount to the two bolts at the front of the rear fender and provide a center mounting point...very clean set up your gonna like it...as far as the pics can't help ya there I'm waiting on my seat too (Danny Gray butcrack solo)..Should be here wednesday
Not a great photo of the brawler, I looked thru my files and I dont have any others. Here it is for what its worth.
Looks sheet hot but is as comfortable as sitting on the frame.
I like being 1 1/2" lower and 2" further back. It changes the feel of the bike - you feel like your feet are more out in front and you stretch out a little more. The stock seat feels very upright (and really plush!!!) when you put it on after being on the brawler for a few hours.
I didn't have any fit issues with my Brawler except since these pics were taken I've added a Motherwell 6" luggage rack that wouldn't line up perfectly with the rear mounting bolt of the seat. It was a problem with the rack, not the seat and nothing a teeny bit of work with a Dremel didn't fix.
I'm also probably in the minority, but I think the Brawler is more comfortable than the stock seat once you get used to it. I'm used to Corbin seats which are also very firm so the Brawler feels good to me. Here's a couple pics of it on my '09 RKC:
I've had the Brawler seat on for a while now and love it. I love the way it seats me back and lower than the stock seat.
As for the finish, I have the same problem. It wouldn't go foward enough and when I sit on it, there is a gap between the tip of the seat and the tank. No big deal. I guess I could file the hole on the bracket under the seat to get it more foward, but if I haven't done it by now, maybe it doesn't bother me all that much.
