Default Quad Seal Failure, Help?

I have a 6 speed baker (complete baker transmission) that keeps "eating" quad seals. It takes about 1500 miles for the leak to start...dripping down the back side of the inner primary. I pull it apart and quad seal is in pieces. Transmission was returned to Baker once a catastrophic failure when the pulley came off.

Any one else had a similar problem? or better yet, have a solution.

it sounds like the shaft is damage, were the quad seal sets on the shaft,or you are damaging it when it is installed.I would contact Baker if it has been replaced because of damage it's probably still has a damage shaft.

Shaft if fine. It was replaced by Baker last year when I had a catastrophic failure. I'm waiting on a new main drive gear, bearings, etc. I pulled the gearset last night and the shaft/internals are ok.

The Quad seal seats against the main drive or 5th gear, that may fix the problem since you are replacing it. I would look close at the spacer too. The other thing I would do is use some o-ring lube on the seal when you install it, it may be twisting when you are tightening up the pulley nut.
