I just moved from an 05 Dyna Low Rider into a 09 Street Glide in vivid black. I loved the Dyna, but I am really in love with the Street Glide. Had considered a E-Glide Standard, but like the sportier, more sleek look of the Street Glide, plus the engine has the chrome and black where as the standard does not. I've heard that the engines on the standard maybe a little harder to clean, but that is just a rumor I got from a salesman. Ride of the Street Glide is awesome.

I just traded in my '08 Heritage for an '09 EGC - the standard plus tourpack, radio, etc.
I have to tell you, it's a blast. The stopping power is the thing that still, after 600 miles, still wows me. The wider seat took a few minutes to get used to, but now is quite comfortable.
Go for it.
