Question Replacing rear tire

I just ordered a dunlop E3 tire for the rear of my 2005 RK, 160-80-16 I guess I will have it mounted and balanced by the Harley dealer. I was told it costs $40 If I bring the wheel in myself does that sound right?
also, does everyone that has their rear tire replaced leave the rotor and pulley sprocket on the rim? any chance of them being damaged?
thanks

Leave the pully and rear rotor on, it is the best way to make sure the balancing is done correctly. If not, adding them back on after the tire is balanced may unbalance the whole thing all over again. Besides, why take out 10 more bolts only to have HD tell you not to reuse them again?

+1 Leave them on. Also, $40.00 for mounting and balancing at a HD dealership is pretty reasonable. My local dealer gets $70.00, local indy gets $30.00.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks!
I'll do just that.

You might need a plan B. Check to see if your Dealer will mount a tire that you bought somewhere else.

I just did exactly that yesterday and paid $40 for mount and balance. They told me to leave the rotor, sprocket and rubber isolators on.

I bought the E3s from Dennis Kirk.
