Stage 1, PCV, Jackpots, & heat!
My Fuel Moto power package arrived last night at 6:57 pm... Had everything installed and went for a ride around 9:30pm, bike ran great. I am super pleased with the sound & quality of the setup.
Today, it's 73 degrees, the motor seems to just be running, well... hot, too hot, hotter than it should. I am getting a ping if I blip the throttle in between down shifts, and if I give her a little blip at idle I'm hearing some pinging as well. Doesn't seem to ping anywhere else. I haven't been riding any harder than usual, either.
Motor never pinged in stock configuration. I'm running Redline synthetic oils.
Is it really even possible to create an intake leak when installing a stage 1 kit? I ran a stage 1 on my softail and had no issues with a PCIII. I'm not really sure where you could go wrong on the install of the kit... line up the holes, put the o-rings and gasket on, attach to throttle body and then screw on the filter...
Any ideas where to start? I plan on calling Fuel Moto tomorrow AM...
