Default RG vs SERG fairings?

Is there a difference between the RG and the SERG fairing. Cee Baileys web site says the SERG shield wont fit a standard RG. Why?

I'm not entirely sure, but I have been told that the fairing is the same and the windshield is also, but the weatherstripping is apparently shaped different. I may stand corrected, but that's what I've been told...

Cool Rg & serg

There was another post on a cee bailey thread from COSSHOG, He was talking to Joe at Cee Bailey who was testing the SERG shleld on a regular RG. Apparently the shield did fit but I have not see any review since
Will have to PM COSSHOG & see if he did order the shield

the only difference is the weatherstripping.

When I took the stock shield off my SERG to replace it with a CV I had to remove the rubber gasket between the shield and the fairing because of alignment. When I installed the Cee Bailey it fit perfectly with the gasket; perhaps there is a difference but not much. All I can tell you for sure is that the Cee Bailey looks great on my SERG.

Both rubber w/s seals are straight and you either fit it to the bottom of the w/s or the stick on one between the glass and fairing; you lay it out to form to the fairing lines. I dont understand the issue, unless the SERG one is longer where the seal will come up short then just stretch it.

Sorry I have not been able to post sooner unexpected circumstances have keeped me from doing any riding other thatn a quick test. I will do a review as soon as posible.
The cee baileys SERG shield will fit a RG with the serg gasket from hd (I think #57660-09 will have to check that when I return home). The serg shield also comes with new bolts and washers which I have to say are an amazing fit with the gasket, it gives it a good strong solid mount to the fairing. As far as the shield for the short 30 miles I was able to ride it was very impressive. I had a 15" euro which was defective and returned it seemed good but not like the serg. I ordered the 14" SERG light tint, I stand 6'1" (33in inseam) the measurement from the top of the instrument panel is 11 5/8" (stock is 12"). I did a quick ride got up to 90mph (in 20mph winds so really hard to judge) but the shield was solid no flex no flutter like the stock. Radio did not need adjusted and the bike felt solid. I think the SERG will offer the best protection I have seen out of a shorter shield yet. I will do a review as soon as I can.
Side note: I do believe if you order the gasket (from hd) and the proper mounting bolts with washers (Joe at cee baileys told me they will be selling these) it should work with most shields. The fit is great and no more weatherstriping problems.

Yup, I had the SERG windshield on my STOCK RG and needed to order the Cee Bailey SERG windshield because of the SERG gasket.

LOVE IT!!

Not to be stupid, ok I'm not thinking. is this the gasket between the fairing and the shield ot the rubber that goes around the bottom of the shield? I do not have the parts manual(sp?) in front of me and I cannot visualize this. Sorry..

The SERG actually has a rubber gasket that is used between the shield and fairing. Unlike stock RG's that uses a piece of rubber weather striping and two pieces of weather striping tape on the fairing. The fitment is Great and should have been done this way long ago. The bolt kit that cee baileys is coming out with really completes the system. I do recommend replacing your wellnuts if you try this gasket and bolts so everything meshes together nicely.
