Default Full system or slip ons

I am torn between true duals or slip ons. I dont know the advantages or disadvantages of each one. I want a loud exhaust, but not enough to hurt my ears. Wondering if someone could sell me on either one, thanks

I would buy just mufflers, Air cleaner and a TTS Mastertune for the stage one. Then oil cooler and your bling next.

full system: max benefit since "restriction" at header, mid and mufflers are "removed"
slip-on: only restriction at muffler is addressed

but from a sound upgrade standpoint with modest power gains (good on the wallet also), then slip-ons with a/c and tune upgrades is good enough for many

i've given this advice to many: spend time at your dealer on a weekend and listen to bikes as they pull in so you can hear FIRSTHAND as many "pipes" as possible.

I just had the same problem. If your bike is an 09 then everything I read is that the new head pipe from HD flows very well.I am putting on V&H monster ovals.Iwanted good sound but not to loud as to wake the dead. These make good HP and sound. They are pricey But not if you compare to a full set of exhaust.Go on the V&H web site and scroll to the bottom of the page to the cycle world article. This was the last straw for me.My set will be in today.

i have an 08 sg, and with the stock exhaust pipes and the rinehart slip ons, it couldn't sound any better from my standpoint. the one thing to remember is that the monster ovals are very large, and i'd think a lot heavier too. i am stickin with what i got, cause it works, sounds cool, helps it breathe, and it doesn't do anything to **** me off. and that's a good thing.

the 09 headpipe is very good not huge gains in changing it go for the slipons.its the best of both 2-1 perfomance and duals sound and looks.

If your looking to save a little cash just go with slip ons and you shouldnt need to re-tune. Id like to do a full system but i cant justify spending over $1500 on head pipes, mufflers, air cleaner, tuner, and then having it run on the dyno.

I found a set of used screaming eagle mufflers on ebay for my bike for $75. Cant beat that and it sounds great IMO.

Rinehart / Bub Slip-ons! Low deep rumble. My neighbors '09 Ultra has this set up and it's what I'll do also. The sound is fantastic!
