I have the new speakers, pod and amp. when put side by side with my buddys bone stock system we can barely hear a difference. at 3/4 volume I am cracking and popping. Before I talk trash, I want to contact pez to verify everything is the way it is supposed to be.
I know this is an old thread but my hogtunes are cracking and popping but not all the time it sucks....take off the fairing and replace is a PITA....

Just got mine
I was doing alot of research trying to figure out what to get, when I got an email with a reciept mailed to me by my sister who made the the purchase for me, she likes to ride and the last time she rode withme she was complaing about the stereo, as was I, She sent me the HOGtTUNES 3way for the freeway. I wil be returing to the states next week to ride for a week with the TUNES waiting to be installed. Cant wait!! From what I have read it should be awesmoe!
I am no wrench!!!! Can I do this instilation my slef or is it better to go to the dealer?
Timmy B you can do it. The hardest part for me was mounting the rear speaker pods. Since you have the Ultra you should have no problem. Hardest part for you will be taking off the outer fairing which is a "peice of cake" !!
I'm writing this to post an opinion on Made In China Hogtune speakers...it wasn't that terribly long ago when you could search and find almost anything made in America...unfortunately that day has passed...my question to Pez would be...how much more would it cost us consumers for you to have your product made in North America...is it even possible?? I believe the reason for our economic struggles are directly related to the greed of corporations only concerned with the bottom line....and us consumers willing to support this tragedy. I also have purchased hogtunes equipment, but would probably do so even with a little more expense and be way more proud to own them if they were a domestic product
Hey Digz, i'm using the tweeter pod in my 08 streetglide and it improved the sound dramatically. i'm very impressed with how well it works. the install was straightforward too, it includes a hard plastic template or guide for where to drill the holes, i assure you, it's idiot proof. i'm likely to install the main speakers too, but for now i'm using the stock speakers along with the tweeter pod and i'm really happy with the way it works. the tweeter pod gives the system the highs that the stock speakers lack.
I would love the Tweeter Pod, but don't want to give up my windshield bags. I've got the Hogtune speakers in the front speakers, do yourself a favor, spend the $100 and get a pair.... it's much better than stock.
I installed the Hogtunes big amp, fairing speakers, lower speakers and tweeter pod on my 2007 FLHX Street Glide recently and I am having some power problems. When the bike is first turned on for the day, I get lights and controls for the stereo, but no sound. If I run the bike for a while, then turn it off and back on several times, it will come on and run the rest of the day (kind of like a Microsoft computer that fixes itself when turned on and off a few times???). But, after sitting again for a few hours, same problem. Anybody else had this issue and if so, how did you fix it?
