a buddy of mine just bought the V&H basic slip-ons and loves em......and i agree, they do sound bad as hell.
decel popping is usually a sign of leaking at the muffler clamp.....just an FYI
I had them on my 07 Ultra all of last year. At first I agree with everyone else's comments but as the miles added up the bark got louder and louder to the point that in my opinion they bacame to loud. I bought a fiberglass repacking kit which quited it down for a while. Just installed a set of the Monster Ovals which do not appear to have a removable baffle. Only have a few miles on them but a real deep throaty bark and at 80 mph I can hear my radio at half volume with no problem. A lot more money but they are sweet!!!!!!

I agree. While I like the basic slip-ons, I went with the MO's on my 09FLHX. I love the look as the dealer mounted them slash up, which means the slsh follows the lines of the bags.
Can't go wrong with V&H I went with the true duals about a month ago decided to try them with my Python slips ( made by V&H ) The sound is great may go with Monster Ovals later but for now quite happy with the sound the way it is...
