I'm sure a few here have done it. I know there are times I wish I had it and if I were a shorter individual I know I would want it.

I've thought about it myself. The reverse gear transmission parts I've found run between $1300 and $1500, but I've never checked the cost of installation.....I would imagine at least 2-4 hours of labor. Just can't afford it now....maybe some day.

Default Reverse

If I were to do it the Baker Drivetrain F6R would be the way I would go. Just hit a safety switch and shift down one more click from first gear. Or as Bert put's it!

Choose American Horsepower or Kilowatts:
Your metrosexual neighbor with the Honda™ cruiser creeps back out of his garage by energizing a 2 HP electric motor. You back out of your garage by shifting your bike in reverse and creeping out with the power of your proud American V-twin. Electric motors are for toys.

Cool Baker F6R

Spoke with Baker yesterday. Apparently there is a problem with the 09 configuration but earlier models, no problem. Paid $1895 for the reverse gear kit direct from the manufacturer. Pretty darn pricey, but then I am pulling a Bushtec loaded with tons of contriband so it is a neccessity. Saved $123.00 in sales tax buying direct from the factory. Shipping is free.
Baker says the install takes between 6-8 hours and no real special tools required. Anyone else self-install this kit?

it is doable, but once you get nosed into a downhill parking place, you won't do that again. harleys are educational that way. we learn how to park where you leave by going foreward.
