Default Clearview +2 on Road Glide IMPRESSIONS

I had a 16" TRSSC Cee Bailey. A GREAT shield but not tall enough for me. I had wind pummelling me in the eyes. One more inch, it would have been perfect! Even with the FLTRSE stock seat it was too short. I sold it on the forum last week. That said I am 6'2" w/ 32" inseam and WIDE at the shoulders. I tend to ride straight up against the rider backrest. The stock shield is also not adequate. I got the Clearview this week and just rode 300 miles on it today. It was like a slice of heaven. I bought a blem for 20% off and can't find anything wrong with it. I spoke with John at Clearview who looked through a bunch of blems, called me back and found me one that had minimal damage (NONE that I can find) so I did not have to wait for it. Shipping from Colorado to Virginia was 3 days UPS Ground. It is the +2 in light smoke. Buffetting is GONE! A nice clean pocket of air was all I experienced today and I was wearing a half helmet riding 75 to 80 mph for extended periods. I see almost 2 inches OVER the shield and it is rock solid, no moving like the stocker. Clearview also comes with a NEW rubber gasket and all new well nuts and screws. I would recommend this (and CeeBaileys for that matter) to anyone. I just needed the extra height of the Cleavrview. Now I am looking for the "perfect" handlebars. I swapped the stock bars for Heritage bars, a vast improvement, but not quite there yet. I am going to try the Khrome Werks Sweepers +2 , other RG riders seem to have good luck with them. I will also tell you ther fairing lowers were also a drastic improvement to the wind issue. I bought Hogg Chopps lowers and their service and paint is excellent.

Mike,

Many thanks for the information. This is most helpful. I will call John tomorrow at Clearview and talk to him. I am experiencing exactly what you talked about in your email above - wind buffetting in the rider area. I am 5'11" and have a stock seat on the 06 RG I just bought. The windshield is 16 inches or so, measuring up the front, not up from the instrument cluster like some companies do. I have wind coming over the top and around the edges which converge in the face area and move my helment and glasses around. Definitely not workable for a highway ride over 60 mph at this point.

Talked to John this afternoon and found out that Clearview is in the foothills just outside of Denver. He said if I call him in advance and come later in the work week (Thur/Fri) he can let me demo some of the blems in various heights to find the one that works for me best - awesome offer and I plan to take him up on it. Told another buddy of mine in Denver with a RG and he wants to join me when I go try them out. I am so psyched to have this opportunity to try it before you buy it in my backyard!

I;m 6' 1" The +2 is the one that works for me. 99% of the buffetting is gone. The upper edge is right at my nose level. It fit right on the RG fairing. Have seen other wind shields on-line, but unless I take a bird strike to the wind shild it is on to stay
