Well I pulled the trigger yesterday and traded the 2006 EG in on a new 2012 Road Glide Custom. Probably will be picking it up Friday some time. I have been looking at new bikes for a little while and really didn't want to buy the same bike bike I had with a different color. I personally think the batwing is a better looking bike but there is just something about the RG that was drawing me in.
Now the only problem is the windshield. I'm 6'3" and wanted the new 12" wind splitter from Harley, however I tried it any it just isn't high enough for me. Harley has a 15" version but it is only lightly smoked and I don't want that. What are you guys running or what do you suggest I look at?
Anyway I will try to get pics up when I get it home!! Bryan

Congrats on the Glide, I hope you like it as much as I do mine!
For windshields the RG is tough for ssome riders to find one that works and looks good. IMO stay away from the HD Windsplitters , they may have the look you like but they are not very good at providing protection.
Take a look at Cee Bailey or Wind Vest depending on what style you like, both work well. IMO the Cee bailey is the best shield you can get for the Glide and looks the best. You can go about 1" lower than they reccommend on their site. Im 6"3 with a 34 inseam and using a C & C seat that lowers me about 1"+. Im using their TRSSC Dome 15" shield and can easily ride with no glasses up to 60mph, only light wind in the face , no buffeting. from 60 to 90 mph light to moderate wind in the face, no buffeting, can hear the stereo at 1/2 volumne. if you dont want ant noticable wind hitting your face go 16 or 18". Also if you order the lighter tints the shield is able to be exchanged for a different size. The TRSSC is almost exactly the same shape as the Klock Werks Flare but made with IMO a better quality material and fit and finish is outstanding and its available in sizes from 12 to 18 inches in 1 inch increases $ 169.00 and discounts are available for Forum members
Hi HarleyArcher...feel free to give me a call. Fugly riders worldwide highly praise the performance of our Road Glide shields. I can help you choose the correct size where you will have a good view over the shield, but still get the protection you are looking for. I'd be glad to help
I was a non-fan of the Road Glides for the longest time, but has time wore on it
grew on me.. Now, my favorite and had to own one; so a month ago bought one
and couldn't be happier with my only regret being, not opening my eyes sooner...
