I guess I am lucky in a way, if my wife even sees me touch the key for the bike she starts rounding up her gear. She was even like that when we owned the sportster. She never even asks what the weather will be like.
Another Missouri boy here... Kansas City, north of the river (Northland) to be exact.
The wife's got a '09 Heritage, she'll ride most of the time if it's not raining when we start. Her biggest deal is the temperature, she hates being cold. If she gets up early enough she'll ride to work when it's in the 40's so long as she's got enough time to put on her 3 or 4 layers.
Last year we got caught in a rainstorm on the way back from Northeast Missouri. Neither one of us had our rain gear and we got soaked. At that time she had her Nightster and was wearing her 1/2 helmet. Ever since then she'll only ride with her full face. I can't say I blame her, the pins and needles to the face, suck. Although, I still wear a 1/2 helmet, I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.
We're getting ready to head to Americade in upstate NY the end of May, she may indeed end up riding in the rain then, or end up being left behind. ;0)
mine doesn't mind the weather as much as distance. Her back hasn't healed very much from her accident and surgery. Sounds like I bought a house a few miles to far south in Mo. half the forum is by KC.
Not to hijack, but FIREBIKE32 I love that trailer, did you buy or build it?
Don't have a wife here, but a lifelong lovely girlfriend who's willing to ride with me at 70 degrees or above...Rain or Shine as long as we have all kinds of gears to deal with Mother Nature. She doesn't complain or bitch, but laugh it off with good choices of nasty words.
Anything colder than 70 degrees, She comes up to me, says Ride safe and I love you. Then I'm good to go cuz she knows I always buy her HD Jewelry gift after a good day's worth of riding.
I have the opposite problem. The wifey is more ate up with riding than I am, but sometimes I just want to ride solo ... try telling the wife you don't want her to go! lol.
