I decided to go with the black powder coat on my 07 Ultra Classic and I'm waiting now for a call to pick it up. My colors are black cherry red and pewter silver and I think it will have a nice flow.
I'm not a chrome guy and hate to polish more chrome then I have to, so after looking around at the dealers and seeing some of the new bikes with the blacked out look I made the decision to go for it. The front forks will be on a lets see how this turns out to see if they need to be done to blend or just left as is.
I'll post a picture of my bike once I get the call.
Mike 5959 thanks for the great pictures of your ride it looks great and I wish I had seen them sooner, for after seeing your bike I would not have waited so long.
I have seen the 105's in both black and chrome and I personally think the black flows with the colors better. Here are a couple pics of my FLTR with black fork legs. Sorry about the pics, I need to take some of the finished product.
Black lowers look $hit-hot with the coppertop Anniversary bikes. Chrome's fine, but black's awesome. Not to mention, cheaper than chrome. Doubly so if you take your stockers off and get 'em powdercoated (or there's always a few sets of powdercoated takeoffs on eBay).
