Is it just me or do you also have problems with Zanotti and everything being out of stock or back order ??? In the past month I have order over 1700 dollars of stuff, more than half have been on back order. Now I just ordered a service and parts manual, air pump and brake/clutch levers. I ordered them on line and just now...after 2 so I can't call.... get another email that the parts are on back order. I know I am saving 20% but I am now questioning the trouble and time to get the parts plus the shipping isn't CHEEP !!
Anyone having better luck with a discount dealer ???
I have had good luck with Zanotti but if does not say In Stock I go elsewhere cost me 40.00 dollars more for the Tour Pack Back rest but wanted it for the coming weekend not next month...
I have no problem at all with saving 20% off list price and no sales tax, and waiting 7-10 days for parts and accessories. The local dealerships do the same thing Zanotti's does for most items not displayed on a rack in the parts department--they order it from HD when they get a customer who wants the particular part.
Zanotti's is not some mega-dealership with a huge inventory of parts and accessories from the P&A catalog.
Plus, I've found Zanotti's to be very prompt in responding to questions and my orders have always been filled accurately.
If you find a better alternative, please post the contact information.
PS: The shipping charge is only "large" in relative terms if the parts ordered are modest in $$$ amount, primarily because Zanotti's isn't making much money filling that type of order and discourages them with the relatively high shipping charge; at least, that's what Zanotti's told me when I asked them a few months ago when I wanted to order a front motor mount.
It's worth the wait for me. Saved over $100 on my inner fairing. Would have waited just as long if I ordered it locally. Actually had it in 3 weeks. Took my buddy 4 weeks for his when he ordered it locally, plus he paid more.
Pretty much the same thing at Chicago HD but I've NEVER ordered ANYTHING that I couldn't wait 10 days or so to get. 20% off, minimal shipping charges, no sales tax...I can wait. I've spent over $3000 there during the past year and not once have I thought, "Gee, I wish I had bought this at the dealer for full retail plus sales tax 'cause I want it today".
even though most of the stuff is 'backordered' and has to be ordered from hd, i have always gotten my stuff from zanotti's in a timely manner (i think about 10 days from order to receipt was the longest). just because they don't have it in stock does not automatically mean that it is gonna take forever to get.
now, the order i made from chicago hd is a completely different story. i needed some headlight wellnuts (a common item) and some electrical connectors (another common item). ordered, received email that would have to be ordered from hd, okay no problem there. but didn't receive the damn things for 13 weeks! you got to be freakin kiddin me! glad my bike wasn't deadlined waiting on them parts.
based on my experience, i will not be ordering from chicago again. zanotti's has never disappointed me.
funny i have the same results when i try and get something from my local dealer. if im gonna have to wait a week or two ill definitely take that 20% savings. if i need it in a hurry i always check locally first.
Have ordered from them, and had to wait. As others have said, save 20% plus tax. Hey I can wait a few more days. If I need it right here and now I go local. If they have to order also, I turn around go home and order off line.
Ok so before you order online take the best price and print it out and go to your local dealer and say hey match this.. Even if the cant they will get close.. At least mine does and the one parts guy said he you need sumpin else come see me lemme see what i can do..
