hi all.
i'm looking at purchasing a set of se slip on mufflers for my 07 road king classic.
i want it to be a little louder but not unbearably loud.
will these make any difference from the stock mufflers, a friend says it wont make any difference and thats why every one is sellling them.also will it give it any more power.
thanks
If they're a set of stockers off a CVO they won't make much diff over yours loudness-wise. However, if you re-core them with Fullsac baffles (your choice of 1.75", 2", or 2.25") they will sound pretty decent and flow well. Perhaps the 1.75" ones would be best if your '07 is stock.
I am using se touring muffs and they are just the right tone for me. Louder than stock, nice deep tone that mellows out at consistent speed, felt the tq in my wrist. Very happy with them.
I have them on my Ultra along with the SE A/C and they definitely improve performance (increased torque). The sound is a little louder than stock; more like the original Harley sound.
look at Rush pipes instead, epa got on to the se line and they sound no different than what you have already, unless you can find a pair from '06 or earlier
I have the older SE slip-on mufflers (HD part #65115-98B), a SE a/c, and Stage 1 download on my 07 FLHRS and it runs very strong and sounds much better than I thought it would. The exhaust is louder and much deeper than stock but not obnoxiously loud. I am very pleased with it.
You can get the sound you want with just the SE muffs but for a bump in power you need the free flowing air filter and at least the Stage 1 download along with the muffs.
I have the SE Street Performance Touring Mufflers part no.80491-07 and really like them, they are louder than stock have a deeper sound and are legal so you know they can't be over bearing.
You can still buy the original SE from the original manufacturer. Supertrapp made the originals for Harley and still makes them. They also used to be availiable from Fuel moto.
