Default Batwing Mirror Template Needed

Hey guys,

I just opened the box that my HD Fairing Mirrors were in and it was missing the template.

Does anyone have the template laying around that can mail it to me. I will pay postage and your time.

Thanks for any help.

(btw, I called the dealer and they were out of stock of the mirrors, so they said as soon as they got a box in, they would send me the template, but I was hoping for a quicker installation)

I'm pretty sure I have one at home. I can scan it and email it to you, you could print it out and cut it from the print to use it. I unfortunately wouldn't be able to scan it until I'm back at work Monday. Send me a PM Sunday if you haven't gotten one by then and I'll bring it to work with me on Monday.

The dealer should have access to the PDF file and print it out for you.

If you would like them mirrors to be in a better position move them between 1/4 and 1/2 inch up and out from the original template, will give you much better view behind ya. I moved mine 1/4" and work fine have heard of some folks moving them 1/2" without any problems, so it's up to you.

Hey thanks for the suggestions, that's cool.

Hey Joe, I got the fax. Thanks. All I need is the measurements of the
template, so I can make sure that the fax is the same size as the original template. (if that makes sense?)

Measure from the tip opposite the two holes that you drill, to each of the holes. Then I can measure the fax and make sure it's the same.... or at least very close.

I appreciate all the help.

God bless !

Got home tonight and cut the template out, all looks good.

Something that I suspected and did find....

If you have a template or anything that has to be sized correctly, faxed, scanned or emailed.... be sure to get some dimensions with it.

The correct measurements for the template are as follows: (for future ref)

Overall length = 8"
From 7/32" hole to end = 7.25"
From 13/32 hole to end = 7.0"
Width at widest part = 2"

When this was faxed to me, it came in undersized. I had to copy the fax
and increase the size to 105% of the faxed copy.

This is just a note, in case anyone else reads this down the road.

God bless each of you for helping me with this project. It's much appreciated. A special thanks to Joe for all the emails he answered.

Today is the day, gonna hit a workout this morning, then tackle the mirrors, Hogtune speakers and three pouch window bag.

Fun in Tupelo today! Raining with T'storms, so it's a great day to open the fairing up.

Now, the big question is, should I add the 1/2" or 1/4" to the template to move the mirrors up higher and wider? Hmmmmm.....

I would be careful about trying to move them up too far, there is not alot of adjustment in those mirrrors.
