Hey Steve, I do appreciate your input you often give to the HDForum, and of course you have been around longer than I. I took the liberty to post your pic. because I like it so, and I was wondering about the license plate mount...Is this plate mount homemade? Thanks, Tim
Yes, I made the license plate mount myself. I have about $30 into it with the bolt lights and license plate frame, the steel I had laying around here from another project in the past.
I used the left side muffler mount, and the 2 bolts on the back that hold the saddlebag support to the fender support........it's a very solid mount. I did some measurements, cut the steel, did some bending, some fine tuning on the size, and smoothed it all out. Painted it black..............and it was done. I used LED bolt lights to put some light on the plate, and the frame came from AutoZone. I ran the wires to the fender tip light and tapped in there so the lights will be on all the time the ignition is on.
Thanks for the compliments, I try to help out as much as possible and I appreciate the help I get when I have questions.
