Question 2009 Help Me Please

So I need help: 2009 FLHTCU

First Part: Non-ABS

What PSI Front Rear are you running ? I am at 36/40

My front tire looks terriable after 1,300 miles running at 36 psi.

Second Part: keep in mind this is a 2009 FLHTCU Non-ABS

1.) Front Wheel NUT Foot Pounds = my 2007 flhx states 55ft.lbs. Still True ?

2.) Front Wheel 2 Pinch Bolts = my 2007 flhx states 20 Nm Still True ?

3.) To Line the front wheel = use 7/16 drill bit in Axle hole and tight axle bolt with pinch
bolts loose.. PROBLEM: On my 2009 this did not work at all ??

Sorry if this has been talked about just wanted to ride Sunday and I know you guys are the experts and I am to cheap at the moment to buy a service manual after spending $20 grand of this really nice ride......

Thanks for your help

First part. ABS or Non ABS. It's all recomended 36/40.
I am running 36/40 with ABS with tires filled with nitrogen since 300 miles. I am currently at 1400 miles. Tires look like new. I'd check with your dealer on the tire.

Can't help you on the other items.

60-65 ft lbs front axle nut.
132-180 in lbs on axle holder nuts
No more drill bit. Push and hold right fork slider until it contacts external spacer then tighten axle holder nuts.

I have been reading on some other forums that guys are having a wear problem (cupping at around 4500) with the new '09 front tire (D407) design. Something about the direction of the tread design. Dunlop has a new "longer wear" tire (D408F) to replace it. Some have complined to HD and have gotten the standard "that's normal" answer. 4500 miles on afront tire is ridiculous. I've got 1250 on mine an check the tire pressure often....I'll be keeping an close eye on it.....

Thanks for the great Info.

Bummer about the Lops.... probly just go with the Metz.

It such as shame with all the tech they have for car Run-Flat tires that will hold up to 1.0g force and blaze through amonsoon and get at least 20,00 miles, that they can not do the same for a Motorcycle...

I know they have them on some Police BMW's ( Run-Flat ) but come on....

FYI--you probably won't find anything for the 2009's besides OEM Dunlops from the dealer. That's what I have been reading on the boards here.

I haven't touched the front end an dhave 4,000 miles on mine already.
I guess I'll go out and check the tire pressure today.

I've been surprised how many times my front tire only had 20 lbs of air in it. I'm glad I've gotten in a better habit of checking. Hopefully mine will last awhile. I'm at about 4,500 miles right now. Still looks like new.

I run 36 front, 38 rear - that is what service manager told me to run on my Street Glide.
