I had a Buddy that just had a accident on a test ride (09 Street Glide) and did 9000.00 damage. Not his Fault. Progressive told him to pack sand they wouldnt cover the claim or any Demo's . Get a Lawyer .

And WHY should Progressive cover a demo ride bike? I would think the dealer should have Liability Insurance that covers THEIR Bikes and people who ride them for demos.
I cant blame progressive on this one. Did Progressive get paid any premiums on that bike? Did they have the Model and VIN numbers?
I have Progressive for MC and Boat and I like them. You get what you pay for and Progressive is the largest insurer of Motorcycles. There's a reason for that.
They have coverage to repair there bike, and then there Insurance Co. comes back after you to collect there loss in Civil Court .. This is where your Insurance should step in ... Good luck .
I no I'm covered on anything I ride as long as It's Taged & Inspected ..Demo or Freinds Bike ..

When I set mine up USAA recommended Progressive, so I went with them, but after the first year they raised my premium significantly even though no tickets, accidents, excellent credit rating, etc. So, I shopped around and went with Foremost for almost half of what Progressive was charging. I'm going on year three now with Foremost and they've not raised the rate one bit.
Besides, what others have said, Progressive is a rabid Obama and Democrat supporter, and I've had enough of both.
I have Progressive and have been really happy with them. Had a claim on the last bike from a collision with a deer and my rate was lower the next year.
Almost the same exact experience here. They wanted to total the bike($6300 in damage on a 98 Road King Classic) but I wanted to keep it so they gave $5,800 and I had a nice custom bike when I was done. Rate went down $40 the next renewal and continued lower for the next two.

Do you have that in writing. My insurance covers my bike and anyone who rides it as long as they have proper license. I have a rental coverage on my truck, but not on bike.
