Something strange going on. Still insuring mine, just checked the policy again. And been with them forever (I'm on vehicle #33) with three different bikes covered just since '02. Never said a word, perhaps it's just new accounts? Dunno but one thing for sure, I'm not calling to ask!

Doesn't matter to me, I have everything else insured by USAA. For the bike, I'm happy with Foremost, and they've not raised my rates for three bikes since I started with them. Plus they have better accessory coverage than Progressive did. To each his own, but I'll never go back to Progressive. As far as I'm concerned all they did was bait and switch after one year coverage. Damned near doubled my rates even though there was nothing to justify it.
USAA insured my 08 Ultra in July 2008, but not my 2009 SG in Feb 2009. If you are already insured by them, I think they will keep you. Double check this though. I don't know what happens at renewal time.
Funny, I've been with Progressive and my rate goes up every year. The only thing on my record are 2 not at fault accidents, which they site as reasons why my insurance is higher. I just dropped them for the truck, and the bike is due very soon, so we'll see if they don't raise it again, if they do, I'm done with them.. They're nothing but a big name scammer co., just like the rest of them, Allstate, State Farm, Geico, they all suck and they all cheat and lie, just find the cheapest one.
Everytime I read one of these threads, I go back again and study my Progressive policy. I have two bikes covered (06 Roadstar Warrior and 06 Road Glide) I pay under $400 a year. Never had a claim with them, but have never heard anything but good things about their customer service. And, as for the Obama thing. With the vast majority of people in support of him, one would think your comments would be an advertisement to switch to Progressive. Just my opinion. Wouldn't suggest switching the whole topic political though ;-)

Not to belabor the point, but the media says the majority is behind him. That's funny since I know a lot of people, and I've yet to find one.
Anyway, in response to electra glide, nothing funny about it, they just tend to raise their rates. I have no idea why they do some and not others, and they won't explain it, or at least couldn't in my case. Check out Foremost.
Dropped Progressive when I found out they were huge $$ supporter of obama's campaign and most dem causes.... Rather my money be reinvested in my Ins co, so I have AAA
Between that and being the largest donater to the ACLU is the biggest reason I'll never use Progressive, regardless of how cheap they are.
Moot point though, as every time I got a quote from them (before I found out about the ACLU) they were almost double everyone else (USAA, Geico, and State Farm in particular!)
Not to hijack the thread-
I recently traded my Dyna for a RG and found some interesting info from Farmers Insurance. I have everything insured thru them. My agent told me another underwriter bought their "all other vehicles besides car" insurance from them. Had I cancelled my insurance on the motorcycle and then restarted it on the new bike my rates would have TRIPLED!!!! I just transferred it and was able to keep the old rates. I hope it stays that way or I am changing companies. I got a quote from Harley financing and they were good but still more than my present rate with Farmers.
