Default check engine light came on.... 06 Ultra

so i stopped by dealer - he read the code and told me it was a rear combustion alert... said the bike probably hiccupped and no big deal - said he cleared the code out so the engine light would go off..... light is still on.... what do you think? bike runs fine -- Zero issues, but i dont like the engine light looking me in the eye

O2 Sensor going bad would be my guess.

I had a loose plug wire that threw a code. Some others on this forum in the past have had the same thing. Check to see that both wires are seated well. hope that is all it is for you to.

I had the same problem a while back after I had replaced the HD spark plugs with NGK plugs. I had it in to the dealer twice to have the codes cleared. I changed back to HD spark plugs and this ended the problem. I never would have believed it but after doing some research I gave the plug change a try. No need to have the codes cleared because it will clear on its own after some time.

My 03 used to do the same thing. I had put NGK plugs in also and that was the culprit. HD plugs do not have the screw on little cap and the NGK did. They vibrate loose and you get a misfire code for which ever cylinder is loose. May not be your problem but make sure the caps are tight on the plug itself.

UPDATE: as it turns out it was a lose plug wire... wasnt enough to make the bike miss or stutter but was enough to throw a code....

I told you so. To bad the dealer didn't tell you when you went there. The Forum at work again.

Found the thread interesting anyway .. I use NGK Iridiums and did notice have to push a little harder to make sure get a snug fit .. Never got a code yet though but will keep in mind ...
