Help with Hog Tunes Amplifier

Help with Hog Tunes Amplifier
I tried to install my new set of Hog Tunes front speakers and the amplifier and got this far.
1. Removed faring and replaced speakers - 10 minutes, very easy
2. Affixed amplifier to top of radio
3. Routed wire harness through inner fairing, then removed seat and made access to the batter terminal.
The instructions state to loosen the gas tank console and run wires up inside the tank to the battery. I only see one screw on the tank console cover down in front by the forks. Seems to hold on the decorative strip. Removed it but nothing would budge on that decorative strip and I'm really apprehensive about messing with the tank cover or filler tube. No pics provided by hogtunes and no pics in the HD repair manual regarding gas tank "removal"
So I reassembled everything without the amp and the speakers work OK. But I want to use the amp. (also have trouble with amp clearance space to the outer faring, but I hope I can move it in closer away from faring.
Anyone installed the amp successfully on an 08 Ultra??
