I have to roll mine up on 2x4 under the back tire to get the jack to clear. Then I just do like TheBagger and roll it under with my right hand then jack it with my foot. Then I reach down and feel both sides to make sure it is under the frame where I want it on both sides, get off the bike and jack it up to where I want it.
I bought the Larin MAL-2C. Wanted the J&S ... I like it a lot ... but couldn't bring myself to cough up the bucks. Claims 2.5 inches clearance needed. Measures at about 3" the way it's sitting in my garage now. The 2by's and the balancing acts will work but why be frustrated? Shipping on the return will suck but you'll hopefully have whatever jack you end up with for a long time
I have a couple of 4X6 blocks that I set under each frame rail, which gets her sitting level. Then slide the jack underneath, get it centered up and raise the bike.
Inflate your tires to 100psi....just kidding, My Ultra is lowered 2" front and rear so my jack was a tight fit too....I'd stand on the right side of the bike and stand it up off the kickstand and slide the jack under...tight fit but it does work.
That's what I did. Just worked the jack with my foot till it was stable, then hopped off. I had already put the jack together and the store didn't do refunds...It's a little inconvenient working it with my foot while sitting on it, but I can live with it for how inexpensive it was.
I have a Sears red Jack shh, dont let anyone hear me say this and i have been using it since my girlfriend kicked me out of the house and wouldnt give me her j&s jack This Sears jack is very stable as all get out once and this is very important you jack the thing up all the way. Any jack imo will be unstable unless jacked to its highest or close to capacity.....Any comments about this last sentence.
I just push the bike up off the stand, hang on to the bars with one hand and push the jack under the bike with the other. It's a balance act but I have no problem with it, been doing it for years.
This is how I raise mine hold it upright with the right grip.. slide the jack under from the right and use the foot pump... done it for years and no problems ... sears red jack with handle for pushing under the bike
