Well this is very interesting and certainly a learning process.
I have had my brace on now for just over a month and a little over 1500 miles and I have not noticed any additional vibration that was not there before the brace. I'm not an engineer or a pilot but I hate squeaks, noises and vibration and I guess I just got luck with my setup.
My 02 cents and if being a pilot means anything I guess I'm qualified to speak, single engine land, inst rating. Anytime you add another linkage to the frame from the engine you will transfer some vibration to the frame, that is only common sense. The question then becomes, how noticeable is it and in the interest of safety, is it worth it. Everyone's tollerance to the vibration will be different. Some will not even notice it, and some will make a mountain out of a mole hill. Its up to you as to how you view it. Now as a pilot for 40 years I have flown many tricycle gear planes. Cessnas especially when they have a shimmy dampner that needs servicing will wobble upon landing if conditions are right. Not especially life threating because you still have the main gear that supports the aircraft. Not necessarly true with our bikes. I want to say to you who are reading this, Now pay attention, I am laying here with a broken hip and femur due to bagger wobble. Any one who wouldn't want to insure that their bike is a little safer by installing one of these products is not, In my opinion and trust me I am speaking from experiance, showing good judgement. I totaled a 08 uc at freeway speed and if I would of had my girlfriend on the back I am afraid she wouldn't have been as lucky as I was to still be here today.
So have I got an axe to grind, Yes. Is it any skin off my nose if you chose not to listen, No. But for gods sake, We all love to ride, and we all know how dangerous it can be, It just makes good sense to stack the cards in your favor. Some will say I've never felt the wobble, not on my bike, and it might not be a problem on all models, but it was on mine and it only took once. Those of you who have felt it and were able to ride it out my hat is off to you, but for those of you who are wondering if this problem is for real, I am here saying it is. Weigh the options and then make your decision...............
Boys Boys Boys,,,,,, Play nice!!!!!!!!!! It is really very simple.... I have a 07 Ultra with 22k
on in 2 summers... I am not an engineer but just a lowly salesman, no not cars..... If you felt the woBble or softness in the rear as I have.... SPEND THE DOUGH AND MOVE ON... IF NOT,,, DO AS YOU PLEASE... Fact is they do isolate the engine and provide a solid mount, thus reducing or eliminating the rear steer effect... They all are good and perform at some level otherwise there would not be 20 companies manufacturing them...
Are all us Touring bikeowners Crazy??????????? Why did HD change the frames on the 09 Was this possibly on of the reasons??? So many questions,, Only one answer... If safety is a concern... Buy a brace of some kind... If a little vibration bothers you more than a broken hip and femur I hope you have good insurance... These motorcycles VIBRATE ANYHOW..... By the way... I do have the Bagger Brace,,, works great... To each his own.......

Please dont get the wrong impression, both of us still run with the brace installed. A little extra vibration is a small price to pay for better handling.
I have rigged LVDT's as well and I cant agree with you more stevepacman. I still think that the brace is no more than the latest "gotta have it gimmick" because everyone else has it. I love all the stuff we can add to our bikes too. But you have to use common sense what you add and how much you spend.... Sorry about my ranting, i just ride as it was designed. and oh yeah 40K miles on an 07 with no stability issues.
Well I am jsut a working stiff, and I read here a lot, and I post a few too, but I just order one 5 minutes ago. Should be here by the end of the week.

Same here. I was just telling it like it is for me. There is a bit more vibration on my bike, but for some there seems to be none, or they aren't as sensitive to it. There is no question that the Bagger Brace is an extremely well made part and also no question that it isn't a placebo by a long shot. It works, but there is a bit more vibration at certain RPM's for me.
1500 miles with my bagger brace on and I can tell you that it has cured a lot of the wobble that I have experienced with no noticeable vibrations. However I'm still experiencing movement through the handle bars. I have change the fork oil, check the bike alignment, changed the front tire, checked for run out on the rim and end play on the bearings as well as changed out the rear shocks. Short of trading to an 09 does any one have any other ideas?
