Hydraulic tensioners require a 5 micron to stay healthy in regards to scuffing and blockages. So yes I use the HD 5 micron.
If one goes to gear drive in the A motor then the choices are endless in the 10 micron arena. In the B motor the balancing chain still has hydro tensioners. Temp difference, maybe 10 degrees at best.

I ran the HD filter in my first go with the amsoil and just changed the oil and am trying this one with the amsoil filter but doubt it makes a ton of difference between the two but then again I don't know

About this 5 micron number that gets tossed around. This label is actually 5 micron "nominal". That means an average micron size that it filters to. In terms of "absolute" filtration, this probably translate to a 20 micron absolute filter. The amsoil filter is 97% efficient at 15 microns absolute so it is more than efficient if one chooses to use it.
A filter that is 5 micron absolute would be too restrictive to flow.
It's a matter of how it's labeled.
