I have an 04 FLHTCI = stock shocks... Wife and I ride two up most of the time.. Me dressed with full gear 175# Wife Dressed with full gear #130 right, Left and tour pack fully loaded 75#... Bike has about 30K on it.. Just came back from a Coast to Coast - time to change/upgrade rear shocks.. Have Read a lot of posts here on the forum... Lots of suggestions I know.. I have narrowed it down to Works Performance for a few reasons... One being customer service and another being they are only 280 miles from my house. I just got off the phone with "Tom" at Works... My desire is to take the bike to Works.. Install the shocks there and ride/try out / adj them BEFORE I leave for home... While there, I can get a mini lesson on How their shocks work and How to properly adj them. I know they have a 30 day period where the customer can return to have re-valved or rebuilt - I would prefere to be shown "How to" it you get my message..
Reason for posting this here is to get feed back on what I should be looking for > Asking for > or any other suggestions while I am at the factory..
Thanks,,
BTW - as guessed - Works is suggesting Steel Tracker - $555 then a 10% off for HOG
just put black trackers on my 03 flhr. after may conversations with works and after finding a set of what I needed on their outlet site http://search.stores.ebay.com/Works-...817276QQsofpZ0 I was able to buy them for 5 dollars less than the steel trackers(their least expensive shock) including paying extra for the ride guarantee. there is enough difference between the steel trackers and the other models in ease of adjust-ability to warrant the extra in cost.
