I have a RoadKing fuel injected it is a stock 88ci. What I would like to know is? What is the largest CI I can make it and not losing my relialability? And can you send me in the right direction for the specks and part numbers for what is required... Thanks in advance...
if you get the right components, and the right people to do the work, the sky is about the limit. Well, the check book might be the limit, but you can increase displacement easily to 124" if you really wanted to. anything over 98" and you'll need to start making changes other than just jugs/pistons. Reliability certainly isn't the biggest concern, as most reputable builders can give you all teh reliability you'd get from a stock engine.
Yeah, first step i would say would be to talk to some local shops in your area, see what they suggest, how much they want, and go from there. I have had great luck and heard terrific reviews to the complete builds from Head-Quarters, so i'd suggest poking around their website to see what they have to offer. You will still need someone to do the wrenching for you if you aren't going to do it yourself though.

I also have a 2001 fuel injected Roadking. While my M&M injection has been problem free, based on a lot of reading here, I believe that the M&M system has limited potential to support high performance builds beyond 95 or 98 cubic inches. That said, you can do A LOT with your stock 88 by adding a fuel management system, high flow air cleaner/mufflers, and a "baby cam" like a HD 203 or an Andrews 21 or 26. My bike currently has the SERT, SE aircleaner and mufflers with an Andrews 21g cam. It pulls like a tractor with 92 lbs. of torque and runs a lot cooler than it did when it was a stock "Roastking."
There is a huge amount of wisdom and experience on this nforum. If you want performance and reliability, I suggest that you do a search for the Joe Minton build and consider his recommendations. I have done the first half of his prescription and plan on completing his reliable performance recommendation by adding a 95" kit this coming winter.
