Only problem is that the Gilbos mount only works for the nanos, not the touch.

The touch is not cycle friendly, the built in accelerometer will not take the abuse. The I-Phone is the same way, you best bet is to get a cheap nano or look on ebay if you want a bigger ipod.

This may sound a little stupid (mabe not) but is that a joke? What the hell is an accelerometer. Sounds like a seat of the pants dyno!

I have ridden about 2600 miles with mine and found no negative effects, YET. If you arent joking and there is such a thing then maybe I've been lucky.

Hello?

Anybody wanna correctly answer the original question, or is this gonna turn into a 9MM vs .45 type debate?

I got myself a Touch yesterday, and I'm also looking for a clean and simple mount....I don't care for the Ram stuff cause they look goofy.

If I find anything worth mentioning, I'll post it here.

Ok, for those of you here who still worry that an ipod Touch can be damaged by vibration, then check this out:

Yes, your Touch is very sensitive to vibration....But that doesn't mean vibration will damage it...What it means is your Touch can sense, measure and display vibration.

Wanna see?......Go to the itune store via your ipod and download the free app called "iSeismometer"

Some here shout that your Touch contains an accelerometer and vibration will damage it...Well, that's like saying 02 will damage your 02 sensors......Ya know?

Seriously, go get the free app and play with it...Get the free Level tool app while you are at it. They are both really neat tools that allow your Touch to be used in some very interesting ways.

The "hard drive" in the Touch is solid state and can't be damaged unless you stomp it. The accelerometers are also resistant to vibration damage. They consist of a silicone mass with silicone springs.....If you ever seen a pole dancer with silicone ***** injured when she flopped her **** too hard then you might want to worry. Personally, I ain't yet managed to harm anything silicone no matter how hard I yanked n squeezed on it.

Vibration is good!

ipod Touch is good!

Go with the ipod Touch and be able to link at hwy wi-fi hot spots and check ur email and download trip maps and bluetooth your music wirelessy straight to you bluetooth helmet.....You can't do that with a fruckin Nano, huh?...Can you surf the net with a Nano?...Nope, but you can with a Touch....You can also use you email with a Touch.

Let's face it, all you guys who caution mounting a Touch on your scoots are jealous.

Anyone here using an Ipod Touch mounted on the bar?

Any recommendations ?

TIA

At first I used the touch, now the iPhone.

I just put a couple of small strips of industrial strength male velcro on the center tank console. Right next to the FLHX emblem. Then, put the female velcro on the iPhone case that I use for riding.

Works great, lasts a long time. No damage to the console.

Brad

P.S. - And it makes it very easy if you need to change songs or whatever. Within easy reach unlike being up on the bars. JMO.
