I purchased some powder coated front lowers and covers for my FLHX. I am looking for some help with this swap. I swapped my lowers on my softail but I dont have a service manual for the Street Glide and need a front fork diagram for reference. I am hoping someone can post the fork diagram from the service manual. Thanks.
+2 on the Service Manual, unless you already know how to remove and reinstall the ignition (without screwing it up) and fairing cap to access the fork cap bolts, have the tourque values for installing the caliper bolts, front axle nut, and axle retaining nuts, etc. when you put everything back together.
Having done this on softails and touring bikes I can tell you that the procedure is almost identical. Little tougher to do on the touring bike because of access/removal of fork caps and the front fender is a little harder to take off. The innards of the forks on my 05Fatboy and my '07 Ultra were pretty much the same though. So if you still have your softail manual you should be able to get through it easy enough.
I was wondering about that......I was looking at the softail manual last night and was looking at the fat boy fork diagram and almost identical. Would still like to see a touring diagram to make sure though.
