The stock Harley horn on my '05 RKC has taken a dump. In fact it sounds like it's taking a dump when you try to use it. I was curious as to any good replacement horns out there that will allow the use of a horn cover designed for the stock horn. I figure if I'm going to replace the horn assembly I'd like to get something a bit louder.
Try checking your grounding point for it to see if it fixes it. This happened to mine and the motor mount bolt on my softail that was also the grounding point for the horn had disappeared. New bolt, like a new horn!
If you want a new horn that is cost effective and loud check out the WOLO air horn. There are ways to fit it under the horn cover, but you can get it in chrome and it looks fine.

Agreed, check your connections. Mine was doing the same thing, sounded like a sick duck or something. I disconnected the horn and cleaned all the connections hooked it back up and it works fine now.
Mine does the same thing and it's only a few months old! Dealer will fix or replace under warrantee but a louder horn is a better idea. Best deal on a real loud one is from Stebel. Chrome one for just over $40. Too bad it won't fit under the oem bell.
I went with the Stebel, Wolo Chrome or bad boys black it the same thing harley sale for more with a logo on it. You try amazon or E-Bay I bought Wolo chrome last week for less then $30 with shipping. I use amazon is around $41. plus shipping.
