I just bought D&D Fatcats from LP on the site. BTW LP is a great guy. Anyway he is sending them too me and my question is for the wrench turners (I want to put them on myself):
Do I need new gaskets? I am putting the pipes on my 08 SG 2500 miles.
LP recommended some anti-seize for the 02 sensers.
Is there anything esle I should make sure I do. I guess my biggest question is the gaskets.
I would use new gaskets. I have R & R the same set of pipes and used the old gaskets, but I wouldn't recommend it. Besides, they are cheap. I don't use the SE gaskets, just the stockers.... And I would use the anti-seize.
alot to taking the stockers off with all the heat shields and with the x-over. not a bad do it yourself install, def new gaskets and the anti seize....i didn't do the D&Ds but I did do the TD Bub 7s. oh yeah, use your torque wrench!
New gaskets for sure..........better to do them the 1st time then having to remove the exhaust and do it the 2nd time. I use the stock tapered gaskets...........they seal better then the SE ones.
Anti-seize on the o2 sensors threads for sure...........makes for easier removal later on.
You will also have to remove the transmission end cover to remove the stock exhaust bracket and install the D&D exhaust bracket. Do this on the kickstand and you won't loose much if any fluid at all. Oil filler spout might have to be removed as well to access a bolt.......not a big deal. You can reuse both gaskets if they are in good condition, or you can replace them............up to you.
