I want to upgrade the stereo system on my 09 ultra. Does anyone know if the 6.5 inch speakers from biketronics sound better than 5.25 inch speakers from other companies? Also does an amp make a big difference? Thanks in advance.
I know that the HogTunes speakers sound great. Also that the Amp helps bigtime! As for getting a new radio, keep in mind that it needs to ba able to with stand the weather and also so do the speakers.
I have both the 6.5 inch Hertz speakers and the 75 watt amp from biketronics. Used to have the Hog tunes, but they weren't rated high enough for the amp. The larger speakers have more bass and the amp really makes a big difference. Clarity is about the same as the 5.25 inch Hog Tunes speakers. No distortion at high volumes or with songs that have bass. My friends with stock systems are envious of my system. I am happy with the biketronics stuff.
Check out Hawg-Wired! I just installed there Doubleshot Pkge. on my 2009 FLTR. They have a very informitve web-site @ hawg-wired.com. I thought and thought and thought about what to buy b/4 I actually did, and glad I bought what I did. Its not the size of the speakers thats going to give you your best sound in most cases! You want clean watts and and good specs on whats powering your speakers! Check them out b/4 you buy!

You can buy much better sounding stuff for less $$$. Do some search's for Focal and Boston Acoustics.
correct, Focal, Boston Acoustics, Pioneer Pro Series, Infinity Kappa Series and my favorite MB Quart make some good chit---THE SIZE OF THE SPEAKER DOES MATTER- a good 6 1/2 speaker will make a tremendous difference in sound and sound quality over any 5 1/4 the bass and mid range will be no comparison -- you will need an amp to get the best out of them

All of these replies and not a single answer to your question on the Biketronics speakers. I'd like to know about their stuff myself and they're close to me so I'll give 'em a call and check them out and post my findings. Should be early next week.
Chula - you owe it to yourself to search this site and read all the responses and all the threads by user Firecap501 regarding his ARC amp and speaker solutions.
(Wade at 405 343 5050 )
You will see how many members he has provided a complete kick *** solution to and how good his system is. The ARC 2 channel mini amp plus his 6.5" speakers are top notch and will greatly improve your audio. I'd argue that there is no other 2 channel amp, speaker solution that could beat it inb terms of output and sound.
I do not work for him, I'm simply a member of this site and a current customer- I've got an old glide and discussed all my options with hogtunes, hawgwired, biketronics, etc... In the end they were all unable to get me any type of amp / speaker soultion that could really work and that they could stand behind in terms of improving performance. It was all more along the lines of "why don't you get a new bike".
Not the Case with FireCap - he get's it, his service kicks ***, and his products / solutions really work ! He can definitly hook you up for your 09 with a complete bolt-in amp / 6.5 speaker solution that will Rock!
