The local owner of the HD dealer here in Bend, Or. is a friend of mine and I was talking to him Saturday. He said he won't know for sure until the owners meeting in July, but supposedly no big changes for 2010 except for dropping the Road Glide and introducing another version but in 2011 there are suppose to be big changes coming.
If you have ever rode on a V rod you would know right away that the motor is not a touring motor. My first time I test rode one I brought it back to the dealer and told him it was a pig. He asked me at what rpm did I shift the bike. I told him I shifted it like my Road King. He sent me back out on the road and told me to run the rev's up to
(can't exactly remember) 6 or 7 before shifting. When I did that the bike screamed down the road. IMO it has very little low end torque but runs hard and fast on HP.
Not sure that the kind of bike to be touring when you are loaded up with gear and a second person. I think someday maybe in 2011 you are going to see a new frame and motor. Please don't tell me that they both cant co exist because they can. I think it's going to come down to competing in the market place along with federal air quality. Thats what it going to move HD into a water cooled bike someday soon. Will it look like a HD and sound like a HD. Who knows but it better if they want to sell it
all rumors and bs, when someone has hard facts what the 2010's will be pm or email me untill then looks like we won't know till mid July 7 weeks and counting
