Had an interesting couple days. Friday afternoon had the bike up on the lift doing a thorough cleaning and ended up finding a small nail in my rear tire. Tire has 9300 miles on it so I was time to get changed out so I guess no big loss there. Well my brother stopped by on his StreetGlide. Ended up with his bike on the lift and don't we find a bigger nail in his rear tire as well.
Well, onto today, we decide to up to Peshtigo to have new tires installed. 50deg and 20-30 mph wind gusts. Twas a bit of a chilly ride up and back. While there, they had a demo ride going on so we took an 09 SG and 09 EGC for a ride. Very nice I must say. Very impressed with the ride/handling/power. Long story short, we just get back to the dealership and they are in the middle of a Riders Edge training. Just after we dismount from the bikes, one of the riders edge students went to let the clutch out and was caught off guard with it in gear and took off accelerating right into the building. She hit it hard. Rescue was called as she was in a good bit of pain. Was proud to see my bro jump in and take charge and work to stablize her head and help out till medics could arrive. They ended up taking her in for hurt wrist, very sore crotch (think she caught a 3'square brick pillar with her left leg as she was going by) and her leg was sore.
Rode back to town, stopped for a few beers and called it a day.
Cliff notes for the lazy:
Found nail in tire
Rode to dealership
test rode 09 bike
chick wiped out, hit building
rode home w/ new tires
stopped for brew
had great day
Last year we weree at a dealer and one of the sales women started a bike but didn't check to see if it was in gear or not. When she started it it took of into a wall. There were a lot of people there but the bike didn't hit anyone.
As I was reading your post I was thinking the bike was going to go into yours. Good way to get a new bike.
