I am considering purchasing the rectangular fog lamps from Harley. These are the lights which attach to the crash bar and are chromed. They look nice, I just dont have any idea if they will provide that much improved lighting on the road.
Anyone have these or have seen them in action?
As far as an HD branded accessory goes, they are a great buy for 140 bucks. I've got them mounted on my road king. They don't light the road all that well, but they do make sure other folks see you.
I'm seriously considering swapping to the wallworld style lights because they use MR16 bulbs. You can get the bulbs almost anywhere for about 5 bucks each. You can also select either wide or narrow beam paterns along with wattage. My choice will be the 75 watt 12 degree narrow spots.
I've got those MR16 bulbs in my skull headlight from realheadlight.com. The skull head light is mounted on my sportster and they light the road like flamethrowers.
Keep in mind that the very highest rated driving lights are motolights. They are also VERY expensive. Motolight's secret is that they too use MR16 bulbs....Go MR16 and save big bucks, just make sure to use at least 50 watt bulbs and select a narrow beam pattern.
