Let the anger be directed in the right direction. The problem isn't MB; the problem is the other bike week. If I had a group walk into my store and take whatever they wanted and walk out without paying and then threaten to sue if I closed my store during their bike week I'd get out of the bike week business myself.
If the other group decides to go to Panama Beach or Leesburg or where ever and pull the same stunts then thoes events are going to go away as well.
I was 3rd in one of there big golf tounaments last year and It really sucked to not go and play in this years tournament, but I am a biker also so you need to be carefull whom you say is not welcome in you city. We might be take you as serious!
I understand the reasons but they should have fired those in charge of not enforcing the laws that were broke! And do you think this was not how they acted in everyday life! How do you describe this behaver other than unbeliveable!
In this day and age one must be careful. While I fully agree there should have been more support for enforcing the laws for the "other" rally, you kow all well a lawyer is waiting in the wings to come and sue for something stupid. I just hope the up coming rally brings a lot of tickets and summons.

No disrespect to you SA315B. But if you believe that the 2nd week is the problem (and I have heard this also) then fix the 2nd week problem Don't let MB bull**** the hole rally. I say scew MB also I will never show. People need to call the kettle black if that is what it is. Yeah, it pisses me off the way this country hides behind "rights" groups. rant over
We dodged Myrtle this time, went down to New Bern. Kinda slack on vendors but it's the first one there.
I do know that no matter how hard it was raining Saturday, and believe me it was torrential at times, there was a steady influx of bikes coming in the gate. I'm waiting to hear something on the attendance figures. I'm gonna support this one at least a few times to see what comes of it.

P.S. Dealers were cutting some pretty good clothing deals on Saturday. Nice discounts on the sales tags and then very easy to work with on further discounts.
I was there in`04 We had a great time .We were headed back this year but stalled it out because of the confusion of whether we were wanted or not...even if We were coming to golf ,we would be on a bike too bad this had to happen.

Im not suggesting everyone should continue to attend the MB rally; I didnt go this year and have no plans to attend ever again.
Fixing the 2nd week problem invites an expensive to defend NAACP lawsuit, even if MB wins they will be out millions. How much did NASCAR give Jesse Jackson to go away? My point is those who like to go to rallies need to realize that, if MB manages to drive away the people that make up the 2nd week, those people are going to move to another venue. How long do you think the Panama Beach rally will last if the same thing starts going on there?
One of my Vendor friends said MB was down 30% he also went into MB city on his bike for a necessary run and there was none, not one bike at any Hotel, Bar, Restaurant, no where, he also mentioned that the news all they talked about was no one was doing any business or spending money in the community.
