I have 9,700 mi on my OE tires. Still have 5/32 nds of tread left. A lot of 2 up riding @ 70+ mph on interstates. Will replace these tires w Elite 3's when they do give up.

i just put on a dunlop elite 3, mu90b16, rear, and couldn't be happier. got 11k out of the original tire, and expect lots more mileage out of the e3. and the best part of the elite 3, is that i'm no longer getting that drunk wiggle on rain grooves like i did with the stocker. the *** end of the bike used to get that wiggle in the rear like a tire was going flat, and more than once i've pulled over to check tire pressure, knowing that the rear tire had just gone flat. no more problems with the e3.

I don't ride in the wet, unless I get caught out in it. So no other advantage/disadvantage to a slightly wider rear tire than "will hydroplane easier"?

Big advantage is the lower profile - better feel and less flex when cornering hard.

Looks much fatter too .

My bud has a Heritage and he only gets about 5-7K miles out of his rear. I have the RG and I get about 12.5k and everyone wants to know what I do to get so much. The average is around 10k if you are not hot roddin' everywhere. Be Happy, you got good milage out of your tires.
