Hi folks.
I thought I was is heading the right direction. I have been researching many tires and finally decided on the Avon Cobras for several reasons. I wanted these in wide white walls which would add a very classic look to my FLHR now that I have acquired spoke wheels for the front and rear.
Trouble is that I can only seem to find a narrow wide wall for the front and a wide white wall for the rear. The tires I was looking at specifically were the AVON AV71 120/70V-21 WWW (which is apparently a NWW) and AVON AV72 180/70VR-16 WWW.
Any ideas? Suggestions? Recommendations?
At this rate I might just revert back to black walls but someone must be able to offer some advice.
Just don't buy Vee Rubber! Complete junk - dangerous.
The Avon doesn't look bad. It's what I'm running right now. White wall is thinner than I prefer, but it does the trick.
I am hopeful that Metzeler will release a 120/70 www within the next few months. They have promised new sizes for the ME888 on their website, and Dennis Kirk has created a listing for the 21-inch www.
On the Avons, I remember there being something different about that 16-inch rear tire. It's not made the same as other sizes.
Pics of my bike with the Avon front attached below.
The Avon Cobra 120/70-21 WWW is not a 'narrow white wall', there is just not enough side wall (compared to a 90 sidewall) to get the same size white strip...I am running one on my Deluxe and it could never be confused with a 'narrow'. Not to mention only WWW's are white down to the lip of the wheel, not black like narrow white walls...

Reason: spelling

I decided to go with the blackwall Avon Cobras for now. I'll see how those perform (all reviews point to amazing) and then see about WWW in the future.
Thanks all for your input on this.
