for removing the emblems i found out the best way. dental floss, saw through the double sided tape with dental floss, it'll break a few times, so what? use another piece. when the emblem is almost off, it can be removed, then a soft cloth saturated with some wd-40 will remove the residual adhesive from the fender. i removed the goofy plastic "harley davidson" emblems from the sides of the tank on my 08 sg and looks way cooler, easier to wax the tank by far too. by the way, wd-40 stands for water displacement, fortieth formula.
Just talked to the dealer and the service manager said it is ready and they just drilled it out and put another bolt in it. Now they are just waiting for the side covers to come back from the painters and clean it up. I will never go back to this dealer and I hate to see how they riged this.
tut60, you are a real piece of work. First I did not f--k it up unless you say me turning a nut with a wrench and it snapping off is f--king it up and yes I was turning it the right way. I am mad at the dealer because it took two weeks and yes I did have an appointment and I gurentee they did not do the other things on my list. I am just going to be glad to get it back so I can take it to another dealer to get the rest of the stuff fixed, but that stuff can wait til my 5000 miles service.
np, I shouln't have wrote when I was freshly tict either and as I thought they did not do the other items I asked so I just picked it up and will get the other stuff done at another dealer when I get my 5000 mile service done. Shame because this dealer is about 5 miles from me and the next one is about 45 miles. The fender bolt does look ok from underneith but they did not put the emblem back on very well, I was going to replace that with something else anyway when I find something I like.
