On my way to work, stopped to fuel up, when I got back on the road, my Speedo wasn't working, plus.. my AVC for the stereo doesnt work,( speed controlled so figgered that) and..my turn signals dont cancel, ( again I am supposing they get info from the speedo to cancel. Now.. my Service Manual is at home... any body know off the top of their head if this would be a fuse issue??? kinda like to have a speedo on the way home..
94 EGC by the way...........

I would have to guess the speedo pickup has some metal shavings on it. Happened to me a couple times over the last few years. I change my tranny fluid regularly but you can never get everything out when draining the fluid. The pick up is magnetic and any debris floating will get caught up on the sensor and prevent the speedo from working. Only about a ten minute ordeal and won't cost a dime.

All the symptoms point at the speed sensor, it either needs cleaning or replacing. I had the same problem with my 01 RK, cleaning the metal shavings off the sensor didn't help so I bought a new one (about $60) and the problem was solved. It's not difficult to change your manual has all the info. Good Luck.
'94's don't have a speed sensor. They have a reed switch in the speedometer. Sounds like the switch went bad or power is not getting to the switch. Hope this helps.
Just check the fuses- that would be a fast way to determine if it is the problem. Had a problem just like yours, but on a different bike, and it was a blown fuse. The hard part was finding the grounded out wire that was causing the fuse to blown.

I had this exact same problem myself this morning. The turn signals and the horn and the speedo are on the same circuit. Check the fuse for that one, that was my problem.
