Of course set lean it will run hotter than you may like, but adding an oil cooler helps greatly. I have 14.5:1 set for the cruise range and on a recent trip was neck-and-neck in mileage with a friend's '08 RK in stock trim except mufflers. When I had the stock cams I could go to 14.7:1 but the cam upgrade is less tolerant of very-lean AFR's.

I have the PCV, AC, Jackpots, and SE255 cams installed--so I'm very happy with the mileage I'm getting, which varies from 36mpg (city riding in winter) and 50mpg (consistent 50-55mph). I don't think I can do better with this bike.

That way I can store my base map and then set AT up to run with leaner AFRs for a little better fuel mileage. WHen I run in hotter weather, I can then switch AT off and be running on the richer stored base map.
I am enjoying my AT as well. Here is what I did with installing a switch. I bought a small single throw switch from Radio Shack and used one of the existing round holes that are located on the left side of the frame under the seat. I was able to easily feed these wires to up under the seat to the PCV. I have the RJ Originals so they hide the switch.

Good idea on the switch. I bought a second ACC switch and installed it on the dash insert panel to the left of the ignition switch. The LED light won't work since there's no 12V current flowing throught the switch, but I know that down is AT (normal on position for the other switches) and up is the base map. It's in the base-map position in the photo.

The lack of reliable rpm readout above 5100 is a bit of a let down, but then I rarely get up there. The rev limiter is set to 6200, so that's the safety net if I ever need it.

The PCV was $299.00 plus shipping and the AT was $299.00 plus shipping. Bear in mind that when I bought the PCV, it was part of a Power Package which included Jackpot mufflers and a SE A/C. The Power Package was $670.00, so the total outlay for where I am now is $981.00 ish, including everything. Pretty amazing deal in my opinion, as one tends to forget the value of the amount of development that went into the supplied map.

This must be an issue in later-model bikes, as I've seen my '07 tach go to the 6200 redline several times. I rarely go above 4000 on this bike but the tach does work above 5120 RPM's. On affected bikes I wonder if a dealer adjustment with the Digital Technician would fix the problem. Unless the cost was low I would just live with the limited tach readout unless you venture in that territory often.

Honestly, the tach readout doesn't bother me at all. It's fine up to 5100 and the only reason I have been up there and higher is while I'm going through all the ranges for Auto Tune. I was concerned about it until I spoke with Jaimie, because I thought I had a problem, turns out it's normal.
