have been told twice, that the Rush exhaust discolors,,,,why would anyone buy Rush?
Rush's sound fairly good, and tune well with good fuel tuning hardware. Rush went to dealers and sold them on the premise that they need no tuning components to run them, as well as being cheap. Initial feedback was good, but long term is feedback is changing to the south.
Nobody mentioned Vance and Hines because their quality goes without saying.
As far as price, I got mine from eastern performance and thought the price was good.
Have and like the Basics. Have heard and like the Ovals, heard and luke-warm on the Monster Ovals, thinking strongly about the fishtails. All in all, a big fan of V&H.
Had the V/H basic's on my 07 FLHTC they are louder than the
V/H ovals. Ended up with the Rush 2" baffles.
Depends on how loud you want,if your after a deeper tone but not
too loud go with the Rush 1.75" baffles.
So Did you take out the orig. V&H baffle & replace it with a Rush Baffle. If So what size baffle came out of the V & H Basics.
I had the dealer put VH Basic slash cut on my 09 RK at 1000 miles with the big sucker intake, race tuner, and dynotune. At first I didn't like the sound. What I didn't realize was that those new mufflers needed to break in a bit. Now these pipes are just it. Mellow when you want and at cruise. Never too loud, though, and I wouldn't mind louder. I think several would agree about the VH pipes.
I have the V&H basic slip ons with turndown ends (more like an eagle beak, though). The sound with the V&H true duals is awesome, but maybe a little on the loud side. I can still hear the stereo on the highway, though, so it's not ridiculously loud.
Anyone know if I can put try a baffle in these? The end caps are welded in place, so the baffle would have to go in from the engine side of the pipe. The slip-ons have a 2" straight-through internal diameter pipe.
