For those of you with detachable tour pak on an 09. Is this as far as your rear lock goes down? Taking a long trip starting tomorrow and thought my 06 extended farther. Thanks.

That is as far as mine goes down as well. I tried putting a QD lock on mine so my $1200 tourpak would not walk away and the key for the lock on the QD is like 3 inches long and will not fit as the lock is on the top so the key hits the support bracket so I will have to cut down and reweld the key in order to use it on the 09 model. Just a FYI and have a good trip

 

i have a rack and thats as far as mine go down, and a real pain to get back off

 

Thanks guy's I really appreciate the replies. I had a hell of a time mounting it last night and broke half the "plastic bushing" My 06 went on and off nice and smooth. I guess eventually the bugs will work out for the 09 stuff. Thanks again.

 

The locks on those brackets suck ***. Fist time I went to unlock mine I broke the lock. Another friend did the same. It is set up so it is virtually impossible to get the key in the lock while it is locked. Poor design.
