I am installing a Sony stereo in my 95 standard using a Biketronics installation kit. A set of Hogtunes speakers are going to be installed. My question is this, what do I use for a cover? I am thinking something for boats could be used. There was an article in Hot Bike Feb. 05 issue that showed a cover being installed last. It claimed to be included in the Biketronics kit, but is not. I am wondering if I can find a cover, is it installed with double sided tape? Thanks.
Let us know what you find. I'd like to have a cover when washing the bike. Biketronics cover is like $30.00 and they were out of stock when I ordered my stuff last year.
JDean, can you get Hogtunes to fit? I tried to buy a set back when I installed the Sony and Pez called no joy, his speakers don't fit pre 98 model bikes. I ended up with Alpine 5 1/2", Poly-Aluminum cone with Titanium Tweeter. The tweeter is on a swivel and you can aim them at your head. They sound great. I can get you the model # if interested. I think I paid less than $75.00 OTD.
I have the Biketronics splash cover, got it with my order last fall ,after it was no longer backordered, $43.80 is the price they charged with shipping and handling. I wanted to see what it looked like before buying it,but they had no picture of it on the web site. IMO it's way over priced for what it is.
