Same here with my `08 UC stock seat. Just added the HD adjustable backrest today. Only 10 miles home, but even more comfy. I've done 500 in a day in the past, about to do it again in a few weeks. Not a problem.....just woke up with a stiff neck before the ride and had to deal with that all day, but nothing to do with the ride.
I have done 800+ miles here to Kingman Az. with only gas stops on the FLHTCU stock seat and I thought it was pretty good.
So far the longest I've gone is 500 mile in a day on the Russell and It's really nice. Zero squirming around for the sweet spot during a 10 hr day in the saddle.
I have an Ultimate seat on my VTX and it is beyond awesome. Can do 14 hour days with that thing. I have probably sold 10 seats for Des (owns Ultimate Seats) just by letting people sit on my bike.
I am saving my coins as Ultimate now makes Harley Davidson touring seats. Once I come up with the cash that is the way I am going.
By the way, on the VTX site it was always Corbin or Mustang. Then some people bought the Ultimate and that was the end of the discussion - it was hands down Ultimate from then on. Also, Ultimate is a Canadian company so you Americans can buy at a bit of a discount over what Corbin or Mustang charges...
And no, I don't work for them but I would invest in their company if I got a chance (that is how impressed I am...)

Yeah, there are always some who get along just fine with the factory seat. Unfortunately, I don't ever seem to be one of them. My 93 Goldwing had the best factory seat I've seen so far but that only lasted about a year and a half before the foam deteriorate and it started getting uncomfortable. I've done a couple of 650 mile days on my stock Ultra's seat and it's Ok for the most part but the last half of the day always has me squirming with some periods of time being downright painful.
I sent Russell my order yesterday to get myself on the build list. Should be hearing from them in the next day or two for a build date.
on my 03 EG Classic: stock seat, sucked. Had some padded added to the back section for the wife.
on my 05 EG Classic: stock seat, sucked. Played around adding foam etc. Still sucked.
on my 07 Street Glide: http://home.comcast.net/~kceder/seats/seats.html
Ultimately wound up with the Mustang solo/pillion, but would have probably should have stayed with the 1 piece touring Mustang, only because the solo sat me too far back from the bars. I was looking at changing the bars to something with more pullback when I decided to get my O9.
on my 09 Street Glide:
1. Stock seat not even a consideration. Junk. Not fit for even 20 miles.
2. 08-09 revised version of Sundowner. Decided to try it before spending the money on a Mustang. Good seat, especially for the money. 75 percent as good as the Mustangs for 75 percent of the cost, But....
3. Currently running Mustang 1 piece touring. Will add some memory foam and cross-gell to the passenger section for the wife, and that is what I will be staying with.
all these pages and not one air zepplin seat? we just finished 2085 mile mile trip and and i swear by that seat....400 -500 miles at a pop,,,,no problems a bit pricey but once you try one you will love it!

Only problem I saw with the Air zepplin, was that the rider section is so big, it would be crowding my wife's legroom. I though seriously about one, till I saw one in person and realized she would not like that aspect of it.

DO you have any more photos of your seat/bike? Thats the first Russell I have seen a photo of that I did not think was ungodly ugly. Most of them I have seen make me throw up a little. Yours looks different (much better) for some reason.
