Default Broken Saddlebag Support Bracket

I took the bike out last week, for about a 30 mile ride. On the way back, I stopped to talk to someone, while in the road. When I was done, I took off and heard a bunch of rattlin' coming from the front of my engine. I was just sick, 1039 miles and now this... turns out that the saddle bag support bracket was busted, sending a rattle thru the pipes to the front of the bike. This bracket holds up the muffler.
Anyway, I didnt want to drive it to the dealer, so they came and picked it up and fixed it right away. I was happy with their service and speed. Here is a pic... you can see the bad weld.

Those are notorious for breaking...I've been through a few, on both sides....

Or worse - The support under the bag is gone when that bend snaps.

Have several sets of them myself in various states of repair from my old RK...

Yep, happened to me recently. Long-time HD mechanic who re-welded it has seen heaps over the years and blames it on lateral vibration. There's no 'give' laterally in the bracket, so they create their own - by breaking.

Keep an eye out for them on ebay, you see them from time to time. I try to keep a spare set on hand, so i have little downtime when mine breaks. Then just have the broken ones rewelded and ready for the next time
