Either air up you shocks or get different shocks that don't sit as low.
Harley people will never change over to a Wing no matter what options they hang off of it. It has too much crap already. All it needs is two more wheels and it would be a car.

I wasn't talking about adding stuff, more taking stuff off. Getting that Road or Street Glide look.

Anyways, what number do most people keep their air on.

Default shocks

I have an '08 street glide and took the air shocks off and replaced them with a set of Ohlins from www.motorcyclematel.com Costed me $500.00 and the ride is incredible compared to the air shocks. They will set the shocks up for your weight and riding style. Also don't have to buy the pump or worry about air pressure anymore.

The owner's manual covers this. You should probably go by their suggestion to begin with, and then add or decrease pressure until you get the ride you like.

Mine keeps the same air for ever or till I trade. hahahaha that's a joke.
I don't loose air.

Check your manual it gives starting recommendations for weights. The 09s are a different pressure than the 08s. So be careful with suggestions from around here. Most people just blurt out a number and never say what year, model they ride or what size they are.

It's on page 64 and 65 of your 09 owner's manual. It looks like 20 psi is way to low for you.
I think I'll go check mine.

I just had a thought, that if they didn't tell you you had "air shocks", they probably didn't tell you the proper way not to screw them up either.

It uses like a bicycle pump that screws on the valve. I've never had a bicycle pump like that, so I don't know it a cheapy pump will work. But the Harley pump has a gauge on it, so when checking the air you just screw on the air pump.

It is always a good idea to add a couple more pounds of air than you want, then release the air down to what you want. This adding air will clear out the air lines on the bike of any oil. That's just what I read somewhere. I can't remember if it was on here, or in the owners manual.

But that's what I do, add air to clean out the lines. Then put it where I want, simle easy.

I have been running 35 Psi and I go about 225. I have went as high as 40, but seem to think 35 is good for me.

Check the psi for yourself to see if need any air, only way your gonna know. On both touring bikes I have owned I have never lost any air.

By the way, ever had to add air to your tires? If you answer yes, who is to blame? I don't know who makes the air shocks for HD, but the parts of front end are made by Showa, which I understand is a Honda company. Small world aint it?

I believe the rear shocks are made by Showa as well. I've got an 06 SG and I think my manual says to only run between 12-15 psi. Every year must be different.

And by the way, don't buy a Goldwing...seriously!

I underdstand what you mean by don't compare bikes across brands or you will never be happy. Even though I understand it still sounds like someone trying to sell an inferior product. I have always been facinated my Harley and am enjoying my bike. I still think that if Honda would man up and offer options on the Wing, Harley would have to stand up and take notice. competition is good in anything .
First of all I kind of take offense to the trash talk about the Harley. If you hate it why did you buy it.

Did you bother to read any of the sale literature since this was a $20,000.00 purchase? What about the owners manual? Everything that you have asked is in the manual.

Thetech was probally indicating that every bike has daily, monthly and yearly maintenance. Or just a preride check. Checking this kind of stuff every few weeks is common sense.

And Harley does have competition just alot of us on this board prefer to ride the Bar and Shield. My prediction is that we will read many future posts from you trashing your bike. I still can't figure why you would buy a Harley.
